"U.S. GETS READY FOR THE FIGHT"

1. Who was Phillip Randolph and why did him and Presdient Roosevelt meet? Phillip Randolph was a president and a founder of the BrotherHood of sleepng car porter's and was a well respected African Amercian labor leader who helped organized the march on Washington. And him and President Roosevelt met because Roosevelt called Randolph to the white house and told him he feared that the march might provoke white resentment or violence. But Randolph told him that the march could not be called off. Even though later it was becuse they came to a agreement.

2. Who were the WAAC'S and why were they important to the war effort? The waac's were women volunteers who would serve in noncombat positions. The women served honorably and worked as nurses, ambulance drivers, radio operators, electricians and pilots. And they were important to the war effort because the military work force were already great but staff general George Marshall pushed to form the waac's to make the military better.

3. How well did African Americans do during World War 2? I believe that the African Amercians did all they could in the war but still faced segregation and were still denied basic citizen rights.
